A reflection of what I am grateful for!

It is that time of year when I always sit back and remember all I have, to be grateful for. Yes, there are always challenges in real estate and we certainly have our share right now with higher interest rates and declining home sales. But interest rates are still below the 30 year average and sales were lower in the depth of the recession in 2008 to 2010. So, I am very grateful for that. Another real blessing is that we are dealing with far fewer short sales and foreclosures which means that consumers are doing much better than before. We appreciate the great resource partners we have like Marilyn Gruhot of Trademark Title and Stacy Newgaard of Bell mortgage. I am so grateful for all the friends who used our services this last year. It has been a great privilege to have helped with your real estate needs. Yes, we have some challenging times ahead as the Federal Reserve does its best to calm down this excessive inflation which has stemmed from the Covid crisis and the fact the government has poured excessive amounts of cash into the economy. As I write this, the Federal Reserve just raised rates another .75%. Jerome Powell, the Chairman of the Fed states that another one or two interest rate increases may be coming yet this year. But it is still a blessing for sellers, that despite these facts, home prices remain at least stable and buyer demand remains somewhat strong. For buyers, the huge benefits of home ownership, appreciation, mortgage pay down and tax deductibility remain in place which far out weighs the increase in interest rates. So, all in all, the Feerhusen family will have a very grateful and joyous holiday season this year and we wish the same for all of the 1700 families who have chosen to work with us over the years.
